Loyola High School of Los Angeles

As one of the top-ranked all-boys Jesuit Catholic high schools in the country, Loyola was in need of a website redesign to modernize the look of their site and improve usability for both current and future students, parents and staff. In partnership with bluefeet, we updated the site design–maintaining the traditions of their over 150 year history, as well as reworked the content flow to make navigating the site easy and better showcase why they are so unique.

A modern experience based in tradition

We selected a clean, san serif typeface for use in the navigation, sub-headings, and body copy to give the site a modern look as well as increase legibility. We balanced this with a serif typeface for headings to maintain a feeling of scholar and tradition. We pushed the traditional grid layout by overlapping and slightly off-setting shapes to give it a modern edge and incorporated large-scale, candid imagery and video to show future students and parents a real glimpse into life at Loyola.

Information that’s always accessible

At Loyola, community is important–in their commitment to the students & families they serve, to alumni and staff, as well as the surrounding area–so taking advantage of the opportunity to share information and connect online from anywhere was a necessity. We created a website experience that’s accessible and easy to navigate from any device so critical communications aren’t missed.
